ATLANTA, Sept. 07, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Securities fraud law firm KlaymanToskes continues to represent Oppenheimer OPIE Clients in FINRA Arbitration (Case No. 22-00866) following a $36 million award to victims of Horizon Private Equity III’s Ponzi scheme.

Yesterday, a group of 10 Oppenheimer investors were awarded over $36 million in compensation for their investment losses in Horizon Private Equity III by FINRA arbitrators. Horizon is an alleged Ponzi scheme operated by former Oppenheimer broker John Woods. Between 2008 and 2016, under Oppenheimer’s supervision, Woods raised over $110 million from hundreds of investors across the country to invest in the scam. According to the August 2021 SEC complaint, over 400 investors were affected — including many older and retired investors.

How investors can make up for their losses

KlaymanToskes emphasizes that Horizon Private Equity III’s Oppenheimer victims have opportunities to recoup their investment losses. According to securities attorney Lawrence L. Klayman, Esq., “While a class action lawsuit against Oppenheimer is pending, it may take a long time to resolve. If you have suffered significant losses, you should consider filing a FINRA arbitration suit like the investors above.”

Past and current clients of Oppenheimer who have invested in Horizon Private Equity III are encouraged to contact Lawrence L. Klayman, Esq. at [email protected] or 1 (888) 997-9956.
