On August 2, the U.S. Senate passed the Honoring Our PACT Act, allowing Marines, their families, and individuals who served, lived, or worked at Camp Lejeune between 1953 and 1987 to receive monetary compensation for related damages to challenge base with contaminated water. President Biden signed the law into law on August 10th.

We are working with the Judge Advocate General Admiralty & Claims Division in Norfolk, VA and are optimistic that in any case progress will be made through the administrative process. However, if a mutual agreement is not reached, we will attempt to force the federal government to do the right thing by taking these matters to court in the Eastern District of North Carolina. We look forward to finally seeing justice for those affected,” said Andrew Van Arsdale, managing partner of AVA Law Group, who has already filed 126 administrative complaints with the Department of the Navy for violations by his clients. Another 1,000 claims will be filed by the company over the next two weeks.
