NAPLES, Fla., Sept. 06, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Robert Garon pleaded not guilty to a count of animal cruelty this morning in Collier Circuit Court in Naples, according to his attorney Donald P. Day. According to the lawyer, Garon was falsely accused of the death of a puppy he and his girlfriend adopted together less than three months ago.

“Not only is Robert grieving the loss of his much loved pup, but the real culprits are still out there. And in the meantime, we’re destroying an innocent man’s life,” said Garon’s attorney Donald P. Day. “Unfortunately, the police failed to interview key witnesses in this case.”

“I still can’t believe Buzz Lightyear is gone. And someone abusing a defenseless animal,” said Robert Garon. “This has been a personal nightmare and I look forward to the facts coming out and someone being held accountable for this horrific crime. I lost everything.”

Pleaded not guilty after Garon passed an independently conducted polygraph exam

The plea of ??not guilty follows Garon, who passed an independent polygraph test as well as a three-hour forensic interview. The polygraph test and interview were conducted by John Hisler, a seasoned independent polygraph examiner with 30 years of law enforcement experience. Hisler has performed thousands of polygraph exams for prosecutors, multiple law enforcement agencies, and private investigative agencies during his career.

“I am confident that Robert Garon had absolutely nothing to do with the death of his dog Buzz. Robert underwent a three-hour forensic interview and a polygraph exam, and passed both without deceit,” said polygraph examiner John Hisler.

According to his attorney, Garon’s family has suffered immensely at the loss of Buzz, including these false and cruel allegations, the loss of his job, and threats of serious violence against himself and their extended families.
