C&T today: Labs and extractors use containers of hot water, called open tubs, to allow certain chemical reactions to occur at high temperatures. Huber created Unistats as an alternative to open tubs. How are they unique?

GK: We have a saying that no matter where you are in the process, we have Unistat!

Unistats are circulating thermostats without a temperature-controlled bath. A much smaller internal tank replaces the traditional bath, and an expansion vessel compensates for volume changes due to thermal changes in the external connection system.

The Unistat is therefore hydraulically sealed and can be placed under the table without any liquid level problems.

In practice, your results also have other specific advantages: significantly shorter heating and cooling times, improved stability and reproducibility of the entire processing chain, greater safety for expensive glass reactors and the substances contained in them, and comfort surgery.

From a thermodynamic point of view, they are an irreplaceable thing.

C&T today: Maintenance of extraction equipment is expensive and time-consuming. How can processors get the most value from their technology?

GK: Ensuring suppliers provide warranty and responsive customer service. Huber offers a standard three-year warranty. Just this year, we increased the lifespan to 4 years for open tubs and circulators purchased after January 1, 2019.
