The company announced on Wednesday that Tenet Healthcare and its subsidiary United Surgical Partners International have completed the acquisition of SurgCenter Development, a developer of outpatient surgery centers, for $1.1 billion.
Dallas-based Tenet will acquire the ownership of 86 outpatient surgery centers and other related support services, and its footprint will far exceed the existing 60 hospitals and 550 medical institutions, most of which are surgical centers.
