Montreuil-based French video game manufacturer Ubisoft Entertainment SA announced that the company has launched a blockchain-based platform called Ubisoft Quartz. According to the company, the platform will enhance specific games with playable and energy-efficient non-fungible token (NFT) assets.

Earlier this year, companies such as Square Enix, Ubisoft and Electronic Arts have been suggesting that they will develop in the direction of NFT. Now Ubisoft has announced that it has launched a platform that will take advantage of Tezos (XTZ) Blockchain to utilize NFT technology.
“Introducing Ubisoft Quartz,” the game company tweeted on Tuesday. “We are bringing the first energy-saving NFT that can be played in AAA games into Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. Starting December 9th, you can try three drops of cosmetics for free in the beta version.”
Ubisoft is well-known for its franchise games such as “Assassin’s Creed”, “Prince of Persia”, Tom Clancy’s series of games, “Mad Bunny Invasion” and “Just Dance”. The Ubisoft Quartz website points out that the platform is “where you can get Digits, the first Ubisoft NFT (non-fungible token), which can be played in high-definition games and depends on[ing] Energy-saving technology. The company added:
