Palestinian officials said that 12-year-old Mohammed al-Alami was shot in the chest while traveling with his father in Beit Omar in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that a Palestinian boy who was wounded by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank died from his injuries.

The ministry said in a statement Wednesday that Mohammed al-Alami, 12, died in the town of Beit Omar, northwest of Hebron, when he was shot in the chest while riding in a car with his father.

He is the second young Palestinian to die from Israeli fire in a few days.

The town’s mayor, Nasri Sabarneh, said that when Muhammad asked him to stop at a store to buy things, his father was driving with his son and daughter.

The mayor said that his father turned around, and the nearby Israeli army started calling him to stop. A soldier then opened fire on the vehicle, hitting the boy fatally in the chest.

Sabarneh said he knew family members who lived in the town and had talked with his father. He said that the father and daughter were not injured.

The Israeli military is investigating the incident and did not immediately comment.

On Saturday, a 17-year-old Palestinian died from injuries the previous day. The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that Mohammed Munir al-Tamimi suffered gunshot wounds and died in the hospital, a day after the violence in the Palestinian village of Beta.

On Friday afternoon, hundreds of Palestinians gathered at the hot spot Beta in recent months to protest the nearby Evita Wildcat settlement.

According to the Red Crescent, 320 Palestinians were injured in clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers.

Late on Tuesday, a 41-year-old Palestinian man was arrested Shot The Palestinian Ministry of Health said it was near Beta.

All Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank are considered illegal by most of the international community.
