South Philadelphia Dolphin Tavern is back after being closed due to the pandemic-with some new changes.
The popular dive bar now offers a kitchen and food menu, this summer offering tacos for $1, and a new stage and sound system for the bar’s weekly live entertainment and theme evenings.

Dolphin Tavern is currently open from Wednesday to Saturday from 4pm to 2am, and food is available until 9pm
There are four types of $1 tacos throughout the summer. There are also snacks and small plates on the menu, including French fries and salsa, nachos, quesadillas and burritos.
The bar also offers summer happy hours. HThe appy time runs from Wednesday to Saturday from 4pm to 7pm. The specials are Tecate for US$2 and Margarita for US$4.
Dolphin Tavern purchased a sound system from Boot & Saddle, a South Philadelphia music venue, which was permanently closed in November due to the pandemic.
There will be bands and live music performances, as well as DJs, dancing and themed entertainment nights. ABBArama and DJ David Atlas are scheduled to take place on the second Saturday of each month. This is a night full of popular disco music from the 70s and 80s, and people are encouraged to wear disco costumes.
The third Thursday of every month is also Dumdum Juice, another theme night. There will be multiple DJ settings and pop-up drag-and-drop entertainment. The karaoke plan with host Pat Pharari on Wednesday night will return in August.
The Early Show’s evening party, featuring rotating local music performances, is scheduled to start at 7 pm, and the entrance fee is approximately US$15, depending on the performance.
Guests can enjoy DJ entertainment and surcharges starting at 9pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, ranging from US$5 to US$15.
