Green Party executives have taken action to stop funding the campaign for leader Annami Paul (Annamie Paul) to win a seat in downtown Toronto in an election that may be held later this year.
The four party sources who were granted anonymity for not having the right to discuss internal affairs publicly stated that a motion was made at the Federal Council meeting on June 29 to detain 25 previously designated for Paul’s election campaign in the Toronto Center. Ten thousand Canadian dollars.
The motion has not been passed, and Douglas Tinji, chairman of the Canadian Green Party Fund, said that the party is still committed to supporting the Toronto Centre to the best of his ability. He said specific details are confidential.
Paul has no seat in the House of Commons. A by-election held in the Toronto Centre last fall replaced former Treasury Secretary Bill Morneau, second only to the Liberal Party Marci Ien.

Passing the motion means that funds invested in advertising, research and human resources will be reduced.
Last week, the Green Party lay off about half of its staff due to internal strife. New Brunswick MP Jenica Atwin joined the Liberal Party last month. This disagreement spread in public view.
The party, its chairman and interim executive director did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
