Denver (Associated Press)-Four people were arrested, more than a dozen weapons, including several rifles, were seized in a hotel in downtown Denver that was related to the upcoming Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The event is approaching.
On Friday night, the police officer who received the report searched two rooms of the Maven Hotel, one block from Coors Field. Three men in their 40s and a woman were arrested, and two vehicles were seized to search for evidence.
A law enforcement official told the Associated Press that the police also recovered hundreds of ammunition.
The official said that so far, investigators have not found any evidence that the organization is planning a mass shooting or other similar attacks, but at the same time warned that the investigation is still at an early stage. The official was unable to discuss the matter publicly, and had social conversations with Midland on the condition of anonymity.
The official said that after an employee found a weapon in a hotel room, the authorities received a call.
The arrested man is being investigated for the possession of weapons by the former criminal, while the woman with a separate arrest warrant is being charged with drugs.
The FBI said in a statement released on Sunday: “We have no reason to believe that this incident is related to terrorism or threats to the All-Star Game.” “We are currently not aware of the events, venues, and players of the All-Star Game. Or the community is under any threat.”
Denver Police said in a statement that the clue that led to the arrest is a good example of the community playing a “critical role” in public safety. It said that tourists should always pay attention to the surrounding environment and report any suspicious or illegal behavior.
No other information was released, and the police did not immediately respond to requests for further comment on Sunday.
Coors Field will host the All-Star Game on Tuesday, but in the past few days, celebrations have been held inside and outside the stadium and in the city center.
