San Diego-On Saturday, a burning vehicle triggered a fast-moving bush fire on a highway in a rural East County, forcing some residents to evacuate.
According to firefighters, the fire broke out on Interstate 8 west of Japatul Valley Road sometime before noon. Cleveland National Forest Service.
Officials said the fire, known as a “road fire”, had spread to 20 to 30 acres and spread rapidly around 12:15 in the afternoon.
Evacuation of part of Descanso and Viejas reservations has been ordered.The authorities are working to notify the affected communities, the Humane Society of San Diego Urge residents Bring pets.
All lanes of Interstate 8 are closed to the west of Interstate 79 and Japatul Valley Road. Caltrans asked drivers to avoid the area and find a different route.
