Police said a 10-year-old girl was fatally injured in an apparent accidental shooting in a house in southwest Philadelphia on Thursday night.
The incident occurred at around 9:30 in the evening in a household along the 5500 block of Whitby Avenue.
Investigators said the child had a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she was pronounced dead. The girl was not immediately identified.
The police have not announced any arrests or charges related to this incident.
