The new Covid variant “Lambda” is currently raging in South America and has now been discovered in the UK.
Six cases of Lambda variants were found in the UK-all of which were related to overseas travel.
Public Health England announced this morning that it isCoronavirus diseaseVariations in the survey.
PHE stated that the earliest recorded sample was reported in Peru. To date, Lambda has been sequenced in 26 countries, although other reports claim to have found it in 29 countries.
Lambda (C.37) is now receiving attention due to several significant mutations including L452Q and F490S.
