San Diego (Associated Press) – Joey Voto and Cincinnati Reds manager David Bell were expelled after a heated argument with home run referee Ryan Additon in the first inning, and Voto was sent off.
Padres fans sitting in expensive seats near the Red Army air-raid shelter were also thrown away.
Receiver Webster Rivas appealed after Voto had pitched from Miguel Diaz’s high outside line. Third base referee Chris Guccione confirmed that Voto turned and left.
Wotto was unhappy and began to quarrel. Bell came out of the air-raid shelter to join the quarrel. Bell and the two coaches had to keep Voto away from Eddieton.
