Canadians who have received two doses of the AstraZeneca-Oxford COVID-19 vaccine may now participate in the highly anticipated Broadway show starring Bruce Springsteen, but there is at least one Canadian who wants to participate in the show There are still questions about whether he can participate.

David Screech said on Saturday that he was happy to hear that the theater was playing Springsteen on Broadway Modified the previous rule that AstraZeneca-Oxford winners were prohibited from participating in acoustic performances featuring The Boss.

Jujamcyn Theatres has previously stated that audiences who wish to participate in the show need to be vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), while those who receive the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine are on the sidelines.

The theater revised these rules on Friday, citing New York State’s adjusted guidelines, and now says it will accept audiences who have been vaccinated by the FDA or the World Health Organization.

This means that people like Screech who have received two doses of the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine can now theoretically participate in the show.

But Screech, the mayor of View Royal in British Columbia, said he still hopes to resolve some issues before booking a flight.

In a telephone interview, he said: “The next question now is what is the acceptable form of evidence when you arrive at the entrance of the theater.”

“I emailed the theater this morning and asked them this question. If I can have something useful, I think I will definitely go in late August.”

Screech found that given the widespread use of vaccines around the world, the previous decision to exclude AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccinators from public events was confusing.

The product is widely used in countries including the United Kingdom, and at least 2 million Canadians have been at least partially vaccinated with the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine.

Public health experts have also condemned this move, calling the green light decision of a country’s approved vaccine list to be arbitrary and saying that this approach may pave the way for vaccine nationalism.

Springsteen on Broadway This is not the only form of entertainment that AstraZeneca-Oxford University recipients are prohibited from accepting.

Other New York attractions, including Saturday night live with The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Still said that those who received the footage could not participate in the live recording.

The border remains closed

Canada and the United States extended restrictions on non-essential travel on Friday, closing the border between the two countries until at least July 21.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that 75% of Canadians need the first dose of the vaccine, and 20% need two doses before they can relax the country’s threshold Saturday crossing.

More details on the rules for vaccinated Canadians and permanent residents are scheduled to be announced on Monday.

Despite the increase in vaccination rates and the sharp drop in COVID-19 cases, the non-essential travel ban between Canada and the United States has been extended for another month, which has raised questions about why the border is still closed. 2:49

Trudeau said the government plans to allow Canadians to upload proof of vaccination photos to the ArriveCan app so that border officers can verify if someone has been vaccinated when traveling this summer.

In the fall, Trudeau said that federal officials are working with provinces to automatically share vaccination status and then be accepted worldwide.

He also said that the government is working with other countries to ensure that travelers who receive vaccines not approved in the destination country can still enter the country safely.
