County officials released their last regularly scheduled COVID-19 update on Tuesday, and provided any future briefings as needed. The daily press release containing COVID-19 data will be replaced by a weekly news update every Wednesday.

Last Wednesday’s data-including 48 new cases-brought the cumulative number of infections to 281,422. There are no new reports of deaths, and the death toll remains at 3,770.

In Wednesday’s data, the number of hospitalizations related to the pandemic fell by 1 to 74. The number of patients in the intensive care unit is still 21. There are 59 staffed ICU beds available in the county.

As of Wednesday, 2,123,647 people in the county received at least one dose of the vaccine.

The number of fully vaccinated residents was 1,776,647-accounting for 84.5% of the county’s target of vaccinating 2,101,936 people aged 12 and over. The mark is based on an estimated 75% of the eligible age group population in April, and aims to achieve community “herd immunity”.
