LA JOLLA-When the fare feels a bit too high, you can always go higher and higher.

“It’s a cool day. The US Open is going on and many people are very happy to be here,” said Charlie Baudouin, flight instructor at the Port of Torrey Pines.

Beaudoin is your golf guide. He flies over the tee at 12 o’clock and over the green at 4 o’clock. He uses more than 30 years of flying experience to bring the fans closer by 20 minutes each time.

“There is no doubt that the best part is the happiness I bring to people,” he said. “I shared this with 12 people yesterday, many of whom will never forget.”

The paragliding experience will cost you about $175, but that pales in comparison to the $600 of US Open tickets on third-party websites.

On the court and inside, fans like Finley Schwartz and his uncle Josh are being treated by golfers Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele.

“We hope that the locals in San Diego will be successful on the day of the move,” they said.

If this happens, it will become an interesting crowd on the 18th. The pandemic limits the number of fans that can participate, reducing the crowd, which usually exceeds 25,000 per day, to less than 10,000. This is part of the reason for the skyrocketing ticket prices. Remember, there is always another way to enter.

“Tomorrow will be a sunny day, and the wind is very good,” Baudouin said.
