Have you heard of moon milk? This is an ancient Ayurvedic sleep therapy that contains a variety of anti-inflammatory herbs and spices, as well as a natural adaptogen called ashwagandha, which can help calm the body.

Moon milk

raw material:
1 cup of unsweetened nut milk (hemp, almonds, cashews, etc.)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
¼ teaspoon ashwagandha
2 pinches grated cardamom
1 pinch grated ginger
1 pinch black pepper
1 teaspoon ghee or virgin coconut oil
1 teaspoon raw honey

route:

  1. Add milk to a small saucepan; simmer over medium-low heat.

  2. Add cinnamon, turmeric, ashwagandha, cardamom, ginger and black pepper.

  3. Stir vigorously (to avoid lumps) until combined.

  4. Add ghee/coconut oil, reduce the heat and cook for at least 5-10 minutes. (The longer the cooking time, the thicker the milk.)

  5. Remove from the heat and let the milk cool slightly.

  6. Add honey and stir. If needed, sprinkle extra cinnamon on top.

Tip: For maximum benefit, please enjoy this drink after dinner or before going to bed.
