Two more people died of COVID-19 in Scotland
The Scottish government stated that Scotland has recorded 2 coronavirus deaths and 1,209 new cases in the past 24 hours.
This means that the number of deaths under this daily metric—the people who tested positive for the virus for the first time in the past 28 days—is 7,692.
New data shows that 253,120 people have now tested positive for the virus, with a daily positive rate of 4.5%, down from 3.5% the day before.
So far, 3,611,266 people have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, an increase of 19,628 people from yesterday, and 2,555,308 people have received the second dose, an increase of 19,505 people.
NHS Lothian had the largest number of new cases at 331, followed by Greater Glasgow and Clyde at 320, and Tayside at 115.
