Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa will open a new restaurant later this month to replace the former Wolfgang Puck that was closed during the coronavirus pandemic.

The casino announced plans to open the American Bar & Grille on June 19, a new restaurant owned and operated by MGM Resorts International and Borgata.

Under the leadership of executive chef Aram Mardigigian, the autumn-themed American Bar & Grille will focus on contemporary versions of American classics, using seasonal ingredients and flavors with global influence.

“In the past 25 years, the classic American barbecue style has evolved, and its preparation and secular flavors have been influenced by Japanese, Italian, German and other cultural melting pots,” said Mardigian. “We seek to incorporate these intricate flavors into our menus, and are always inspired to create unique combinations of unforgettable dishes for the game.”

Specialties on the American Bar & Grille menu will include barbecued baby back Berkshire farm pork chops, “three-course” domestic lamb chops with Madeira olive sauce, stir-fried Atlantic salmon with summer tomatoes, and homemade pretzels and mustard sausages. .

Meat lovers can choose a 16-ounce grilled rib-eye steak with Argentine chimichurri or an 8-ounce premium burger with aged white cheddar cheese and French fries.

The new restaurant’s ingredients will include tomatoes, corn and fresh seafood from New Jersey. The restaurant’s Jersey corn soup will be topped with jalapeno cream and cilantro, while the fried local New Jersey fluke will be topped with white wine, garlic and lemon sauce.

The restaurant will also be equipped with an open flame, wood-burning pizza oven.

The casino stated that American Bar & Grille’s “Fall on the East Coast” theme will be highlighted by red, gold and amber ceilings, and its design resembles fallen leaves. The main restaurant will lead to the casino floor, while the private dining area will be used for parties and events. The chef’s table in front of the chef’s table can accommodate up to 12 guests.

A 17-seat bar will be located in front of the restaurant, serving local craft beer from Cape May Coastal Evacuation to Spellbound Pale Ale, Yards Philly Ale and Double Nickel Vienna Lager. Specialty cocktails and selected American wines will also be provided.

American Bar & Grille is located at the north end of the casino floor.Open from Sunday to Tuesday from 5pm to 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 11pm
