EASTENDERS’ JILL HALFPENNY TO FRONT GRITTY NEW THRILLER 

The actress, 45, will star in The Holiday as Kate alongside Owen McDonnell (Killing Eve), who will play her husband Sean.

The story follows Jill’s character whose dream holiday turns into a nightmare when she finds out her husband is having an affair with one of her best friends.

However, she doesn’t know which of her best friends has committed the affair – and all four are on holiday with her.

But things take a deadly turn as Kate gets closer to the truth, as someone is willing to kill to keep their secrets hidden.

MICHELLE HARDWICK RETURNING TO EMMERDALE

Actress Michelle Hardwick is currently on maternity leave from the ITV soap after welcoming a baby boy into the world with her wife Kate Brooks.

Her character Vanessa Woodfield left the village to stay with her mum after being diagnosed with bowel cancer. 

Vanessa was given the all clear at the end of 2020, but decided not to return home after discovering her fiancee Charity had cheated on her with newcomer Mackenzie.

WIGGED OUT

Emmerdale fans have been left distracted and confused over Bernice Blackstock’s wig.

The hairdresser – who is played by actress Samantha Giles in the ITV soap – returned to the village last night after 18 months in Australia caring for her ex-husband Charlie.

Though many fans were thrilled to see her back – they couldn’t help but notice that something was off about her look.

And they quickly realised that she was wearing a wig instead of her normal hair.

‘STYLE QUEEN’

Coronation Street’s Sally Carman was hailed a “style queen” by Loose Women viewers today as she looked totally different to her character Abi Franklin.

The actress was on the daytime show to discuss her character’s harrowing storyline which has seen Abi’s son Seb beaten to death by a gang of thugs.

Speaking from her home, Sally wore her blonde hair up, a pair of oversized specs and a bright red lipstick.

It attracted compliments from viewers, with one writing on Twitter: “I didn’t even recognise Abby from #Corrie on #Loosewomen.”

EASTENDERS SPOILER ALERT: PHIL DISOWNS BEN… AGAIN

Callum and Ben eventually managed to tie the knot after many ups and downs after Callum confessed to going undercover against the Mitchells.

Next week, Ben and Callum return from their honeymoon but are quickly brought down to earth with a bump when they discover Vi is still at Stuart’s and they’ve been relegated to the blow up bed.

It soon becomes clear they’ve got bigger fish to fry when Phil sees Callum in the cafe and storms out. 

Later, Kat tries to calm Phil down and encourages him to make peace with Ben.

CORONATION STREET FANS CONVINCED SHARON BENTLEY WILL BUY THE ROVERS

CORONATION Street fans are convinced Sharon Bentley will buy The Rovers Return – out of revenge against Jenny Connor.

The evil criminal – who is played by actress Tracie Bennett in the ITV soap – will soon be exposed as drug-dealer Harvey’s aunt.

Viewers know Sharon has been secretly working to free Harvey from prison by having Sam kidnapped and used to blackmail his dad Nick into forcing Leanne and Simon to change their evidence.

But her foster sister Jenny is on to her evil scheme – and with the news the Rovers is going up for sale when Jenny and husband Johnny split – viewers think they know who will buy it.

Fans think Sharon, who was revealed to be the aunt of evil dealer Harvey following her return, will set her sights on the pub. Sharon is currently heavily involved in Harvey’s twisted scheme to track down Simon and Leanne, and make them pay for reporting him to the police.

CASUALTY: DEATH IN PARADISE AND DOCTORS STARS AMONG CAST SHAKE-UP

Casualty is welcoming two new stars to its line-up who have previously starred in Death in Paradise and Doctors.

Osi Okerafor, who has acted in Death in Paradise and King Gary, and Elinor Lawless who has performed in Doctors, Shakespeare and Hathaway, have joined the cast of the world’s longest-running primetime medical drama as new characters Matthew and Stevie.

First to join is Osi who will playing the character Matthew, a locum registrar with a history of practicing medicine in the world’s trouble spots and a deep and enduring love for old flame Fenisha.

Matthew is due to appear on screen later this month.

BBC One fans will watch Max (Jo Martin), who is a consultant neurosurgeon at the hospital, struggles as she becomes the patient.

Max prepares for her mastectomy but tensions are rife between her and son Louis – who deliberately took a shift to keep an eye on her.

Despite initially being in denial about the results of her BRCA1 test, Max appears determined to get through the surgery.

However, another bombshell is dropped on the doctor, when she receives the devastating news that her bloods have revealed she’s anaemic, meaning she can’t have the breast reconstruction as planned.

Curtis and AJ Pritchard have said they will not be “wasting energy” on trolls who have been mocking the pairs’ “cringe” performance on Hollyoaks.

Once all the guests arrive, Kim declares she’s stepping back from the business but first needs to choose her successor.
