Calgary police said he was wanted for causing harassment and violating the Queen’s Court Order.

The second offence is to participate in illegal public gatherings.

Calgary police said in a statement that the latest allegations are related to an incident that occurred at the CORE shopping center in downtown Calgary on Saturday.

Police said that after the conflict with Johnston that day, several store employees reported that they were worried about their safety.

Allegedly, Johnston entered the mall store without wearing a mask. The police said in a statement that when he was asked to wear a helmet, he verbally abused the employees.

Police said Johnston will leave the store, bring back more people, and continue to verbally invite employees while the incident is broadcast live.

The police said that many of the shop employees involved are young people who “work either alone or with other people and worry about their safety due to group confrontations.”

The police continue to investigate the conduct of people who were with Johnston during the alleged verbal abuse.

Johnston has a history of belligerent and racist behavior, and he said he was prepared to arm himself and go to the homes of health officials to arrest people who had taken law enforcement actions.

Currently, he is subject to a restraining order sought by Alberta Health Services, which prohibits him from obstructing or interfering with Alberta Health Services employees.

Johnston was promoted and attended three large gatherings, which violated the pandemic-related health restrictions. He was arrested by Calgary police on May 8.

He has been accused of repeatedly refusing to comply with public health restrictions and organizing activities that encourage others to also violate the rules. His hearing is scheduled for June 16.
