According to local media reports, Israeli warplanes continued to attack the Gaza Strip in the early hours of Wednesday morning, flattening residential buildings and killing at least four Palestinians.
The latest attack occurred after Israeli forces shot and killed four other Palestinians and injured dozens of others in protests and historic strikes in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The strike is in solidarity with the Palestinians bombed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.
Since the latest violence on May 10, at least 220 Palestinians, including 63 children, have been killed in Gaza. About 1,500 Palestinians were injured.
Twelve people were killed in Israel, including two children, and at least 300 Israelis were injured.
Despite the escalation of violence (it is now the tenth day), diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza have not made much progress.
The United States continues to prevent the UN Security Council from issuing a joint statement, urging an end to hostilities, and telling diplomats that public statements will not help ease tensions.
However, France said it is working with Israel’s neighbors Egypt and Jordan to develop a new ceasefire resolution.
China stated that it “supports” the French proposal.

I am deeply concerned about the ongoing hostilities between the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel.
In order to support civilians in crisis, we need sufficient funds for response and unhindered humanitarian access.
