A Royal Mounted Police officer of Prince Albert of Saskatoon was charged with first-degree murder after the death of a 26-year-old man named Braden Herman in the Dene Nation on the Clearwater River, 600 kilometers northwest of Saskatoon.

Bernie Herman, 53, was charged on Wednesday and was originally scheduled to appear in Prince Albert’s provincial court at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

The Mounted Police has served for 32 years. He and Braden Herman are not related, but they know each other.

A friend previously confirmed to CBC News that Braden was the person who found his body in the woods of Prince Albert on Tuesday night. Family members have also posted messages on social media to commemorate him.

Braden, who lives in Prince Albert, is credited as a kind man dedicated to his loved ones.

Long-time friend Rena Lemaigre said: “He is very friendly.” “He is a good man. He is not the kind of person who can fight.”

She said that Braden had lived in Prince Albert with RCMP officers and their families, but the two people (both from the same Dern community in northern Saskatchewan) were in trouble since then. Their relationship has been tense since.

Lemegler said that the officer would call Breton so many times that she called it “harassment.”

Not on duty at the time of death

According to a press release issued by the Prince Albert Police Department on Wednesday, the city police responded to the area in the Prince Albert Woods after the body of a man was found on Tuesday evening.

Police said Bernie Herman was not on duty after his death and was subsequently arrested.

The Prince Albert Police Department has requested the appointment of an independent observer to supervise the investigation.

Braden is scheduled for an autopsy in Saskatoon on Thursday.

“He always picks me up”

Le Magdale said that Braden was raised by his grandmother after his parents died as a child. He graduated from the high school in Prince Albert.

Lemaigre graduated from Dene’s teaching degree program last year and she said Braden is one of her best friends.

She said: “Whenever I tried to give up school, he was always there and he always picked me up.” “He always encouraged me not to give up.”

Le Magdale said that Braden was often short-lived, changing jobs and living with other people during the time of Prince Albert. She said one of them was the Mounted Police who is now accused of killing him.

She said that since his brother committed suicide in 2015, he has been struggling and he often resorted to alcohol and drugs.

But Lemaigre said that Braden had just returned to school recently and she thought he was changing his life.

She said: “He started from scratch…I have confidence in him. I know he will do it.” “He has been trying to lift himself up.”
