AIDEN FUCCI’S PARENTS APPEARED IN VIRTUAL COURT

Aiden Fucci made his first court appearance on Tuesday after being arrested and charged with murder in 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey’s death.

The 14-year-old suspect’s parents, Crystal Smith and Jason Fucci, all appeared in a Zoom hearing, where a judge ruled that Fucci be detained at a juvenile detention center.

“I do find that there is probable cause to believe the offense occurred and at this time I am going to order that Mr Fucci be detained by the department of juvenile justice in secure detention for 21 days or until further order of the court,” Judge Richard Orfinger said.

INVESTIGATOR CALLS TRISTYN CASE THE ‘MOST TRAGIC’ DEPARTMENT HAS FACED

St Johns County Sheriff’s Office Director Howard Cole said that the death of Tristyn Bailey is one of the most tragic cases the department has ever had to investigate.

“In my 20 years of investigating homicides, this is probably one of the most tragic and difficult cases that we have faced,” Cole told News4Jax.

The team investigating the 13-year-old’s killing reportedly consists of 80 investigators, a forensics team, and a criminal analysis team.

CHEER COACH SAYS TRISTYN WAS ‘INCREDIBLE LEADER, FRIEND, AND ROLE MODEL’

Tanya White, who taught slain teen Tristyn Bailey cheerleading, described her death as “completely horrendous” and “mind-blowing.”

Speaking on Aiden Fucci, she said: “I’m glad he has been arrested and it’s moving quickly and not dragged out for the parents’ sake.

“Tristyn was a cheerleader for our middle school association and captain as a 7th grader,” she went on.

“Tristyn was an incredible leader, friend, and role model for many athletes. She lit up the room with her smile and spunk! She absolutely did not deserve this.”

SHERIFF: TRISTYN BAILEY KILLING WAS ‘COLD-BLOODED MURDER’

St Johns County Sheriff Rob Hardwick called Tristyn Bailey’s killing a “cold-blooded murder” and said that it was definitely not an accident.

The sheriff’s comments come after it was revealed that Bailey was stabbed to death, and her classmate Aiden Fucci was charged.

“This is a cold-blooded murder of a 13-year-old young girl who did not deserve to die,” the sheriff told News4Jax.

“That being said, I don’t want to mention the number of times, but it is horrific,” he added while discussing the stab wounds found on the teen.

“It’s horrible, and the word accident is nowhere involved in this case.”

SHERIFF’S OFFICE ISSUES WARNING ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA TROLLS

On Tuesday, the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement about a group of trolls that had been leaving cruel comments on Tristyn Bailey’s Instagram account after she was found dead.

“There are a number of accounts … that are using this case to try to gain fame and followers,” the statement says.

“Please know that these individuals had nothing to do with this incident.”

The statement goes on to list a series of user names that the department is aware of.

SHERIFF SAYS THERE’S A ‘LONG WAY TO GO’ IN TRISTYN CASE

St Johns County Sheriff Robert Hardwick told Action News that even though the department has arrested a suspect in Tristyn Bailey’s murder, there is still a “long way to go” in the investigation

“This case does not end with the unfortunate death of Tristyn and it doesn’t end with the arrest of our suspect,” the sheriff said.

“It ends when we get everything together and everything is exhausted. We have a long way to go.”

He also told the station that there could be additional “forthcoming arrests” in the case.

WHEN WAS TRISTYN BAILEY LAST SEEN?

Slain teen Tristyn Bailey, 13, was last seen in surveillance video walking near the North Durbin Amenities Center with Aidan Fucci, 14, who has since been charged with murdering her.

The two were spotted together around 1.14am on Sunday.

Bailey was reported missing around 10am that day, kicking off a 16-hour search.

Her body was later found less than half a mile from Fucci’s home.

TRISTYN BAILEY’S CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED

In an update posted to their Facebook account on Tuesday, the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office revealed that 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey had been stabbed to death.

“It has now been determined by Chief Medical Examiner Dr Predrag Bulic that the cause of death is sharp force trauma by stabbing,” the update says.

“The manner of death is homicide.”

Bailey’s body was found around 6pm on Sunday after the teen was reported missing earlier that day.

Tristyn Bailey’s cousin, Connie Stull, exclusively told The Sun that she hopes Aiden Fucci confesses to killing her 13-year-old cousin.

She was asked if she hopes the 14-year-old comes clean, and replied: “Yes I do. I have cried my eyes out.”

“I looked him [Aiden] up on Facebook, but there are too many. I’m happy they made an arrest and hope they try him as an adult.”

AIDEN FUCCI COULD FACE LIFE IN JAIL

14-year-old Aiden Fucci could face life in jail if he is found guilty of the murder of Tristyn Bailey.

If Fucci is charged as an adult, he could be sentenced to life in jail for the second-degree murder charges.

The state attorney in Florida will ultimately decide whether the teen should be tried as a juvenile or an adult in the case.

Although he appeared tearful when the judge read off his detention tears, Aiden Fucci reportedly had another reaction entirely when a judge determined another factor in his detention during court on Tuesday.

Tristyn Bailey’s body was found on Sunday, and the ongoing investigation is complicated, according to area cops.

The St Johns County Sheriff’s Office in Florida said that they “do not believe there is a threat at this time” asking the community to “stand down” from the search.

Law enforcement explained that “this is the early stage of a very, very complex investigation.”

“Hey guys has inybody [sic] seen Tristyn lately,” the teen wrote in a caption imposed over the image.

The Sun can confirm it is now being probed by police as part of their investigation.

‘ROLLING HIS EYES’

During his court appearance on Tuesday, Aiden appeared to hold back tears when the terms of his detention by Judge Richard Orfinger.

He then rolled his eyes when his parents were told they’d have to pay a fee of $5 for each day he remains at the Volusia County detention center where he’s being held.

It’s currently unclear whether he will be tried as an adult in the case, with a determination to be made in court later this month.
