Washington – Twitter’s CEO has vowed to ensure that a better job will be done to handle abuse on its platform. As reported by WebProNews, Dick Costolo recently discussed the company’s flaws in how instances of abuse have been handled in the past and suggested there would be imminent changes.

Costolo is quoted as stating in an internal memo obtained by The Verge, “We suck at dealing with abuse and trolls on the platform and we’ve sucked at it for years. It’s no secret and the rest of the world talks about it every day. We lose core user after core user by not addressing simple trolling issues that they face every day.”

As noted in the report, the admission follows a published piece by writer Lindy West regarding purported harassment she has received on Twitter.

Costolo is further quoted as stating in the memo, “We’re going to start kicking these people off right and left and making sure that when they issue their ridiculous attacks, nobody hears them.”
