Nevada – A rancher who stands accused of being liable for a freeway crash attributed to one of his cattle has stated that there isn’t proof that he is responsible. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), rancher Cliven Bundy has been sued by a Las Vegas school teacher who claims his cow caused the accident that led to her injuries.
Bundy claims a photo of the cow killed after being struck by Danielle Marie Beck’s car does not provide proof that the animal bore his earmark or brand. He is quoted as stating, “It could be anybody’s cow… One, they have to identify the cow. And two, I’m not liable for the fence.”
The vehicle involved in the accident was reportedly being driven by a friend of Beck’s, Matthew Paul Zanatta.
An attorney for the school teacher Danielle Marie Beck is seeking a minimum of $20,000 in damages for the accident. The lawsuit was filed in Nevada state court.
