Wyoming – A new study indicates the number of workplace accident deaths in Wyoming has declined. As reported by the Casper Star Tribune, the number of fatalities was said to have fallen by 32 percent last year.

As noted in the report, Wyoming has been recognized in five instances between 2001 and 2010 as having the highest number of workplace accident fatalities in the country. Director of the Department of Workforce Services Joan Evans is quoted as stating of the welcome news of a reported decline, “I am pleased with the concerted efforts Wyoming’s industry alliances are making – and their recognition that change must start from within.

“The department has challenging goals; but we cannot move the dial on workplace safety alone. To continue to make progress, a joint effort by all employers and their employees is needed to change Wyoming’s safety culture.”
