Texas – A Texas homeowner resorted to burning down his luxury mansion after the surface below it decayed and left it dangling above a lake. As reported by Reuters, demolition crews burned the home, once valued at $800,000, down on Friday, as TV news helicopters circled to film the home’s destruction.

As noted in the report, most of the home was burned within an hour of the blaze being set. The mansion was located on Lake Whitney, which is approximately 75 miles of Dallas.

Owner Rob Webb, who has reportedly abandoned the property, is quoted as stating of being unable to initially recognize it after seeing it on news reports being burned down, “You’re like, ‘Good grief, that is my home.”

According to local media, Webb may be billed for the cost of demolishing the mansion, which was built in 2007.
