New York – Four people were killed and one person injured after their vehicle sank into a creek in Queens on Friday night. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the driver of the 2009 Honda Accord managed to escape being seriously injured and told officers who responded to the scene that the four passengers were trapped inside of the car, according to the New York Police Department.
Three of the passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. The fourth was pronounced dead after being taken to Mount Sinai Queens. The driver, who was taken to Elmhurst, has been listed in stable condition. None of the victims’ identities have been released.
An investigation into the accident, which occurred in the Astoria neighborhood in Queens, is ongoing.
