Worker Blown From Roof in Gusty Winds at Pulaski Construction Site

Pulaski, N.Y.—Investigators have revealed that a gust of wind cause a 23-year-old construction worker to fall to his dead at F.X. Caprara on Monday, November 18, 2013. The fatal construction accident occurred at 2:06 p.m. while installing a metal roof at the construction site located at Route 13 near Interstate 81, reports Syracuse.com.

The victim, Kyle M. Brown of Turin, NY, fell 24 feet to the ground and was rushed to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse by responding emergency medical professionals. Despite attempts to save the victim, his injuries proved fatal and he was pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m.

It is unknown at this time how hard the wind was blowing at the time of the accident or if he was wearing a safety harness. Investigations are underway.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are expected to investigate.
