Florida – Bail was set at $1 million Wednesday for a man arrested after purporting to Jacksonville International Airport security screeners that he had a bomb. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Zeljko Causevic, 39, is facing charges of making a false report about planting a bomb and possessing a hoax bomb in connection with the incident that led to an evacuation of the airport.
Causevic is stated to have approached a Transportation Security Administration agent on Tuesday with claims that his camouflage backpack contained a device that was “supposed to be a bomb, but it’s not.” Officials subsequently found in the backpack small luggage scale, two batteries, and a microchip. Causevic was arrested after being interviewed by the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
Authorities have not reportedly released a motive for the alleged bomb threat. An investigation in to incident is ongoing.
