California – A contestant lost the chance to win $1 million on “Wheel of Fortune” after making a pronunciation error. As reported by ABC News, Paul Atkinson landed on the million-dollar wedge on the long running popular game show, but lost the prize after mispronouncing “Corner Curio Cabinet” as “Corno Curro Cabinet.”

Atkinson is quoted by ABC News as stating after the flub, which he said was his “biggest nightmare,” “I was nervous! I’ve got Pat freaking Sajak to my immediate right … I’ve got lights and cameras in my face … I’d never seen that word before.”

Atkinson went home with only a $2,000 prize. He is further quoted as stating, “I knew I messed up… I knew something awesome could’ve happened, but I totally goofed it.”
