Boston – Female DNA has reportedly been found on a fragment of the bombs that were used in the recent Boston marathon attack. As reported by CNN, investigators are trying to determine whose DNA matches that which was found, which an official warns may be linked to someone unrelated to the attack, who may have come into contact with the pressure cooker used to make the bomb prior.

Lawrence Kobilinsky, a DNA expert at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, is further quoted by CNN as stating of another possible source of the DNA, “It certainly is possible that it came from one of the victims… You have to interpret what we see.”

An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
