Greensburg, Pa – A man is facing charges for allegedly drinking bottles of old whiskey belonging to the owner of a home where he served as a live-in caretaker. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), John Saunders, the former live-in caretaker of a Pittsburgh-area mansion owned by Patricia Hill, is accused of drinking over $100,000 worth of her whiskey.
The Old Farm Pure Rye Whiskey was purportedly found by the homeowner in 2012 when she purchased the mansion.
Saunders has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property. His DNA has reportedly been linked to three empty bottles of the whiskey.
A hearing is set for Wednesday in the case.
