Lewisville, TX – Residents in a Lewisville complex located near a duplex where a gas leak explosion occurred are seeking a change in evacuation protocol. As reported by CBSDFW.COM, residents of the complex say they should have been evacuated and notified of the leak.
A 55-year-old man was killed in the explosion. One resident who was reportedly injured in the blast, purports they were not notified about the gas leak.
Ron Batts, President and CEO of CCA, is quoted in the report as stating, “I think that’s part of the protocol that needs to be reviewed by the proper authorities.”
James Kunke, Community Relations and Tourism Director for the city of Lewisville, is quoted as stating, “In this particular instance, we do believe that all reasonable steps were taken,” but possible changes would be reviewed.
