Virginia – A man was arrested in an incident at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Virginia days following the massacre at an elementary school in Connecticut with the same name. As reported by NBC 4, the man was arrested without incident in a purported attempt to make a point regarding school security.
The man, Christopher Garret Johnson, 33, carried a two-by-four with the words “High Powered Rifle” contained on it into the school Wednesday morning. Johnson was detained by a resource officer prior to be arrested.
A Shenandoah County officer is quoted in the report as stating of the incident, “He made general statements about school safety and safety awareness…But the reality was, it was disruptive.”
Johnson faces charges of disorderly conduct.
