New Jersey – A New Jersey bridge reportedly had alignment issues prior to a train’s derailment last week. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the National Transportation Safety Board’s top official spoke about the issues Monday after some of the problems were stated to have been reported a day prior to the train derailing on Friday.
NTSB chairman Deborah Hersman is quoted by the AP as stating of ongoing efforts to determine the cause of the accident, “Nothing has been ruled out.”
A full inspection of the cars that had derailed in addition to the bridge reportedly cannot be completed until after hazardous vinyl chloride that was released into the air during the accident is removed from the area.
