Los Angeles – A judge has denied actress Halle Berry’s request to move her daughter to France. As reported by ABC News, the actress, who had previously been embroiled in a custody battle with Gabriel Aubry, the father of her 4-year-old daughter Nahla, filed the request in Los Angeles family court, citing a concern for her and her child’s safety.

Berry reportedly made the filing in February, attributing her safety concerns to two men accused of stalking her. One of the men, Richard Hoskins, purportedly threatened to slit her throat and escaped from a psychiatric hospital earlier this year. Another, Richard Franco, had previously been released from prison after being convicted of stalking Berry.

Berry is engaged to marry actor Olivier Martinez.
