Los Angeles – A judge has dismissed a defamation lawsuit against actor John Travolta. As reported by E! Online, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Malcolm Mackey dismissed the suit filed by You’ll Never Spa in This Town Again author Robert Randolph, who claimed the Savages star and his attorney, Marty Singer, had damaged his reputation in a letter responding to Randolph’s book and an article, which made insinuations against Travolta.

The judge reportedly stated that the author did not submit evidence showing that Singer’s letter persuaded potential buyers to not purchase Randolph’s book.

The judge is quoted in the report as stating in a tentative ruling, “Defendant Singer has amply established that he sent the 11/23/10 letter to Gawker Media in good faith and in serious consideration of litigation… As such, the letter is privileged.”
