Bozeman, MT — An apparent ski lift accident caused three children and an instructor to fall less than 20 feet at Big Sky. The accident occurred Saturday afternoon, February 11, 2012, on the Ram Charger Lift, reported KTVQ.com.

Investigations into the ski lift accident are underway, but it appears that one or several of the children were not fully seated when boarding the lift and there was a communication gap between the lift operator and instructor, the Big Sky spokesman reported.

Everyone involved was taken to Bozeman Deaconess hospital for a medical evaluation. They have since been treated and released.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

Big Sky has launched a full investigation into the accident to help determine what caused the incident.

Big Sky spokesman Chad Jones told KTVQ, “the resort is doing everything they can…not only to find out the specific details of this event… but work with the staff to hopefully prevent future accidents.”
