Stillwater, OK — Several people were injured in a post-game celebration that turned chaotic as thousands of fans rushed onto the field, after Oklahoma State University beat their rival University of Oklahoma, reported Reuters.

Several different reports have indicated that somewhere between 10 to 13 fans were injured Saturday, December 3, 2011, when the fans rushed onto the field with several seconds left in the game.

The rowdy fans tore down goal posts as they sang the school song, and met an announcement to stay off the field with laughter from the spectators.

Eight people were rushed to Stillwater Medical Center for injuries that ranged from fractured ankles to strained backs. One person remained hospitalized as of Sunday.

Three people were reportedly treated at the stadium for injuries.

This was the first time in nine years that Oklahoma State beat University of Oklahoma. Oklahoma State won 44-10, capturing the Big 12 championship, a first for the university, Reuters reported.
