Scituate, MA — Disney Fairies Plastic Trikes by Kiddieland Toys Limited are being voluntarily recalled by the maker and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for laceration hazards the product poses to children. The CPSC announced the nationwide recall on November 1, 2011.

The trikes were recalled after discovering that the protruding plastic fair figures on top on the handle bar pose a laceration hazard to the child if they happen to fall on the figurines.

A 3-year-old Ohio girl reportedly suffered a facial laceration near her right eye as a result of the recalled trike.

“This recall involves the Disney-branded Fairies Plastic Racing Trike. The trike is green and purple with a white seat and yellow wheels. On top of the handlebar, there is a Tinkerbell figure and three other rotating fairy figures. ‘Disney Fairies’ is printed on the label in front of the trike just below the handlebar,” reported the CPSC.

The new Princess Trikes are not included in this recall, as they do not have the figurines.

Consumers are advised to contact Kiddieland for a free replacement handlebar with an enclosed rotating display.
