NY Man, 82, Killed in Construction Accident at Clark Art Institute

Williamstown, MA — A construction accident at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute left a New York man dead, after he was run over by a piece of construction equipment. The fatal construction accident occurred around 7:30 a.m., at 225 South Street, reported Masslive.com

Officials reported that subcontractor John J. Hanson, 82, of Castleton-on-Hudson, N.Y., was fatally injured when he was run over by a piece of construction equipment.

Responding emergency crews pronounced Hanson dead at the scene. Details surrounding the accident and how it occurred have yet to be released at this time.

Hanson was reportedly employed with a soil testing service company in Castleton.

State police and Williamstown police are investigating the construction accident. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) were also alerted of the death and will be joining the investigation process.

The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute is reportedly undergoing a multiphase expansion of its South Street facilities.
