Bowling Green, KY — A Bowling Green Independent Schools bus and a car collided Monday morning, September 12, 2011, leaving an adult and 10 children with injuries. The school bus accident took place at Russellville and Campbell Lane, reported the Bowling Green Daily News.
According to officials, city schools Bus 4 was transporting 50 children to Bowling Green Junior High School when the accident occurred. The bus was reportedly headed west on Russellville Road when it tried to make a left turn onto Campbell Lane and collided with a Chevrolet Lumina driven by Paula Borden, 42, of Bowling Green.
Responding emergency crews transported seven children by ambulance, along with Borden, to The Medical Center. Parents of three other children transported their children to the emergency room.
The injuries sustained in the crash are not believed to be serious.
The school bus driver, David L. Becker, 54, was not injured in the wreck.
The uninjured students were taken to school following the crash.
Investigations into the school bus accident and who had the right of way are ongoing.
