Port St. Lucie, FL — A Florida teen was arrested after killing his parents and throwing a party at their house with their bodies locked in a bedroom. The murder took place sometime after 1:15 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011, when the teen invited friends on Facebook to attend a party at his house that night, reported USA Today.
Tyler Hadley, 17, is being charged as an adult for second-degree murder in connection with his parents’ death, Blake and Mary-Jo Hadley. Police say he will not face the death penalty because of his age.
According to police, Hadley bludgeoned his parents outside of their bedroom and hid their bodies in the locked bedroom covered by an array of household objects.
That night as many as 60 people showed up at his house for the party, unknown to them that the bodies of his parent lay in the other room.
Because of the noise, police were called to Hadley’s house with a noise complaint at 1:30 a.m., Sunday.
Police later turned to the home at 4:24 a.m., after being tipped off by an unknown source that a murder had taken place. Hadley was acting nervous when he answered the door and was taken to the police station. Police later obtained a search warrant and found the bodies of his deceased parents in the master bedroom.
Investigations into the horrific murders are underway. Police have yet to uncover a motive in the slayings.
