CORAL GABLES, FL – The preeminent trial law firm of Grossman Roth is pleased to announce that veteran class action attorney Robert “Bobby” Gilbert has become of counsel to the firm. Gilbert will spearhead the firm’s growing class action and complex business litigation practice.
Gilbert, who has handled more than 50 trials and two dozen appeals over the course of his 25-year career, is most widely known for his work representing the more than 200,000 Florida homeowners affected by the Florida Department of Agriculture’s citrus canker eradication program. Litigation in this precedent-setting case is ongoing, with the Broward County component ending in an $11.5 million jury verdict in favor of the homeowners. Gilbert is currently serving as the plaintiffs’ coordinating counsel and member of the plaintiffs’ executive committee in the multidistrict litigation proceeding in federal court in Miami challenging the wrongful overdraft policies and practices of approximately 35 banks.

In addition to his legal work, Gilbert is a dedicated member of the South Florida community. He is a trustee of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and the Miami Foundation, and past chairman of the Alexander Muss High School in Israel.
He received his undergraduate degree from Florida International University and his juris doctor from the University of Miami School of Law.
