City of Industry, CA—Foria International Inc. and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have voluntarily recalled about 20,800 men’s fleece Sherpa shirts over violations of the federal flammability standard. The CPSC announced the recall on January 11, 2011.
The recall was initiated after officials became aware that the shirts fail to meet the federal flammability standard, which poses a risk of burn injuries.
The CPSC reported, “The recalled men’s pullover Sherpa shirts have a four-snap placket and long sleeves with rib-knit cuffs. The shirts are made from 80 percent cotton and 20 percent polyester blend brushed Sherpa fleece in olive and burgundy. A ‘Norm Thompson’ woven label is located at the center back neckline of the garments.”
Consumers are advised to contact Foria International to obtain information on how to return the shirts for a full refund.
