WI Industrial Accident: Worker, 43, Killed at BNSF Railway Facility

Green Bay, WI—An industrial accident at the BNSF Railway taconite facility left one worker with fatal injuries on Wednesday morning, December 1, 2010. Emergency responders were dispatched to the taconite facility at 3701 Itasca Street at around 6:28 a.m. in Allouez, as reported by the Duluth News Tribune.

Superior Police reported that the 43-year-old male worker, who has not been identified, was fatally injured while working at the facility. Officials have not reported what the accident was or what caused the accident.

Responding emergency crews rushed to the scene, where they administered life saving procedures in hopes of saving the injured worker. But, unfortunately, their efforts were not successful and the worker succumbed to his fatal injuries.

Officials with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and BNSF Headquarters will be investigating the fatal industrial accident.
