Man Hit and Killed While Digging Car Out of Snow on I-84 Near Twin Falls

Twin Falls, IA—A 22-year-old man who was trying to dig his car out of the snow, after loosing control on the slippery roads of Interstate 84, was tragically killed on Sunday afternoon, November 28, 2010. The Meridian man was in the median of the interstate when another out-of-control car collided into him and his vehicle, as reported by KTVB.

Police officials reported that Dallin Briner was a passenger in a vehicle that lost control near the Hazelton exit, and got stuck in the snow in the median of I-84. Briner got out of the vehicle to dig the car out of the snow, when a Toyota 4-Runner lost control and hit him and his vehicle. The SUV then spun back into traffic, where it collided with another vehicle.

Despite the emergency responders attempts to resuscitate Briner, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Briner’s sister, Lara, complained of back pain and was taken to the hospital and released. No one else was injured in the thee-vehicle collision.

A full investigation is underway.
